Rituals and Routines
Before you begin any Astral Projection session, you will need to perform a ritual or routine to help get you into the right frame of mind. I’ll discuss more specific suggestions for rituals as we move into each technique further in the course. Right now, in the beginning, the focus of this module is on training yourself to be consistent in your routines.
I will be teaching you a relaxation exercise and have provided an exercise journal for you to track your progress in gaining consistency in performing the exercise. While this may seem like it is unrelated to Astral Projection this process is very important.
Firstly, learning to relax and being able to call upon a state of relaxation at will is essential to creating a good emotional, physical and mental state from which to begin your ritual. Secondly, by following the exercise and journal you begin to train yourself to establish positive routines. The rewards gained from this exercise will help encourage your unconscious mind to be open to the practice of change.
Not all the rituals and routines suggested in the later lessons will benefit everyone. As you read through and try the suggestions, certain rituals will resonate with you and you will be drawn to them. These are the ones you should work on to make a part of your routine. As you practice them, you will intuitively customize them to your very individual energy state.
Relax and allow the Universal Life Forces to teach you and to reveal the knowledge that you have within you. The first step is to complete the training in Relaxation. The exercise requires that you perform it for 14 consecutive days. It takes seven days to break a bad habit and 14 to establish a new one. In 30-days, the new habit will become automatic to you.
Diet and Nutrition
Managing stress and keeping your body healthy is necessary to being able to practice Astral Projection without overly taxing your body and mind. By making simple changes to your diet, you can easily build the strength to project as well as cleanse the body of toxins that can interfere with your energy. Here are a few simple tips that can make a huge difference in how you feel.
Eliminate or reduce alcohol and caffeine consumption. When preparing to travel, avoid both substances for at least 24 hours before performing the projection. Alcohol is a depressant and caffeine a stimulant and they both affect your Central Nervous System. This unnatural influence can disrupt the ability of your body to handle stress, relax and reach meaningful stages of sleep.
Eat smaller amounts, but more often. This will stimulate your metabolism and help your body to process nutrients faster.
Drink Non – Fluoridated water
Drink water. Drink before you become thirsty. Water helps the body function in all ways. Water prevents dehydration while allowing the liver to purge toxins naturally. Water can also help you with maintaining your focus and concentration as a symptom of chronic dehydration is confusion, listlessness and the inability to focus. To perform Astral Projection you must be able to focus.
Walk more. You don’t have to take up running or weightlifting as if you are training for the Olympics to begin to get your body in shape. Simply adding a 20-minute walk to your day will help your body to function. Walking will lower high blood pressure, decrease stress, increase your breathing capacity and tone your muscles.
While the purpose of an out-of-body experience is to leave the physical body behind, your physical body must be strong enough not to have to recall your Astral body because it is in crisis. The healthier you are, the more confident you will be in your travels. It is also recommended that you do not eat for several hours before beginning a projection exercise as the digestion of food consumes enormous amounts of energy in the body.
Start to make small changes to your habits now and you will be comfortably practicing them by the time you reach the second module and begin to study the techniques for travel.
